What would you take with you?
When mom was 87 Hurricane Katrina was headed for the Louisiana coast where she lived. My sister told her they would have to evacuate and to pack what was really important to her. "Mom", she told her, "I just have a small car so you can't take everything with you. Just pack some clothes and a few things you treasure."
When she arrived she found mom waiting by the door. She had a small suitcase with her clothes and two large canisters, about 3 ft tall each.
What was in the canisters ?
One was filled with sugar and the other with flour!
See mom grew up during the depression and experienced rationing during WWII . To her sugar and flour were precious commodities that she did not want to be without.
